1) Always contact me to let me know what's up. It's very awkward if I get a reference phone call and have never heard about your application. Just e-mail me at [email protected]. Include some detail so I have context when the recommendation call comes.
2) If you need letters of recommendation for college, please fill out the form provided on this page and e-mail it to me (I have provided both .doc and .pdf versions to make this easier). The more completely you fill out this form, the more effectively I will be able to represent you in my letter. You will then also need to enter my information in the Common Application system and take appropriate action on your non-Common-App applications - this includes providing me with an online link, a fax number or a pre-addressed envelope for each one, depending on how the letter is to be submitted. 3) Those of you doing college applications, PLEASE USE THE SAME RECOMMENDERS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS, INCLUDING SCHOLARSHIPS. Once I (or anyone) has written you the first letter or two, doing others is not difficult. Conversely, for someone else, it's a big project to start from scratch. 4) If you need my contact information for a job application, you can use my KAMSC e-mail ([email protected]) or you can contact me if you need my phone number or home information. 5) If you need an actual letter for a job application, let me know. I'll need the details on the job, the company, the person to whom the letter should be addressed, and the address to which you want it sent (or faxed). If you want it mailed, providing me with a pre-addressed envelope is greatly appreciated. |
